| Ian, Bhatt duck out in J&K’s 173 against Kerela | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, November 10: Jammu and Kashmir could make only 173 runs after vice-captain, Ian Dev Singh and Arshad Bhatt bowled out on duck in first innings against Kerela in the Ranji Trophy Plate League Group-B match underway at Perintalmanna Cricket Stadium in Malappuram in Kerela.
According to reports reaching here, in reply to J&K’s modest total, Kerela were playing at 19 without loss in 3.3 overs after the match stopped due to bad light.
Earlier, Kerela won the toss and opted to field. Succeeded in their game plan after taking away two J&K wickets for just four runs on board in 3.5 overs, Kerela bowlers were however shown some residence by A Jeelani, Dhruv Mahajan, Samiullah Beigh and skipper Abid Nabi.
But the visitors could not touch the double century mark and the whole side bowled out for 173 runs in 81 overs on the opening day of the play. Jeelani was top scorer with 41 runs while Abid Nabi, Samiullah Beigh and Dhruv Mahajan contributed 38, 31, 23 and 21 runs respectively.
