| Kishtwar campus of JU inaugurated | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kishtwar Nov 10: Kishtwar Campus of University of Jammu was inaugurated by the Chief Minister and pro-Chancellor, University of Jammu Omar Abdullah thereby providing education at the doorsteps of the people of far flung area.Meeting the expectations of civil society of Kishtwar Omar Abdullah congratulated them on the occasion and said that the government has provided infrastructure and now it is up to the youth of this area to encash this opportunity and prepare themselves for the global market by working hard to achieve good results.
Chief Minister also promised to further extend Kishtwar campus by adding more teaching departments and infrastructure which are feasible and relevant to this area for which standing instructions were passed to Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar to identify the land in consultation with the University of Jammu. Speaking on the occasion Minister for Higher Education, Abdul Gani Malik emphasised on the need of quality education and said that he dies not want to see the institutes of higher learning in a condition where the standards of teaching and learning are not met.Vice Chancellor, Varun Sahni while speaking on the occasion promised the pro-chancellor and august gathering to make sincere efforts in rendering quality education to the people of this far flung area. He also deliberated that PG courses like Kashmiri, Urdu journalism etc. shall be the focus areas in the coming sessions.
