JMC continues anti-encroachment drive | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 10: Under instructions from S.C. Sawhney, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jammu, the Enforcement Staff led by Satish Khajuria, Chief Enforcement Officer, continued the anti-encroachment drive at Akhnoor Road from Canal Head to Paloura. During the drive, three trucks load of material were seized which were placed by encroaching upon government land by the different business establishments there. The team also demolished two temporary structures during the drive in there areas. The Jammu Municipal Corporation appealed to all the shopkeepers / business establishments to keep the goods / articles within their own premises and to keep the footpaths / pavements clear for the convenience of the General Public failing which strict action like seizure of goods etc shall be taken. Besides this, the Municipal Veterinary Officer along with field staff conducted drive against the adulteration of milk and visited the areas of Gandhi Nagar, Nai Basti, Narwal, Bahu Fort, Satwari, Kunjwani. During the drive,170 milk cans were checked out of which six milk cans which were of sub-standard quality or not fit for human consumption were destroyed and a fine of Rs 5800.00 were also realized from the erring milk vendor on spot. Further continuing the drive to check the menace of stray animals, the team had also visited the areas of Amphalla, Panjthirthi, Gumat, Bakshi Nagar, Rehari, Roop Nagar, Canal Road, Talab Tillo, Bahu Fort, Narwal, Panama Chowk, Channi Himat, Trikuta Nagar, Nai Basti, Gandhi Nagar etc and lifted 13 stray animals from these areas. The stray animals were impounded in the Municipal Cattle Pound and an amount of Rs 650.00 was also realized as fine from the owners of stray animals.
