Fiscal achievements of Udhampur district reviewed

Udhampur, Nov 10: To review the progress of implementation of District Annual Plan under different sectors till October, 2010, the Principal Secretary to Government, PWD(R&B), K.B Aggrawal who has been nominated as a mentor or guide by the Government for Udhampur district, convened a meeting with district heads of various departments here today.
District Development Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, . Rajinder Singh, Add. District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, . R.R. Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Superintending Engineers PHE, PWD and PMGSY, Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, Executive Engineers and District Heads of various Departments were present in the meeting.
In the meeting, detailed review was held under District Plan, Centrally sponsored and major flagship schemes under implementation in Udhampur district. It was revealed that the district has an approved outlay to the tune of Rs 82.48 crores for the current financial year, against which an amount of Rs.74.91 has been made available till date and out of which over 55% of the amount has been expended under different schemes.
Appreciating for achieving good results financial and physically under different schemes, Aggrarwal exhorted upon them to put in their dedicated efforts in proper utilization of funds and fastest completion of development works in a transparent manner and ensure that the benefits percolate to the deserving sections of the society.
Issuing instructions to the officers of those departments having major outlay, the Principal Secretary stressed the need for setting monthwise targets to achieve desired results on the ground. He also asked the engineers of PWD department to complete black topping work of different roads within favourable weather conditions during the current financial year. He said that there should be no cost over and time over run especially in NAWARD funded projects in view of the regulated flow of funds.
