Dar directs for accelerating pace of dev projects

Jammu, November 10- Minister of State for Roads and Buildings Javeed Ahmed Dar has impressed upon the executing agencies to speed up the pace of developmental projects in Jammu city and ensure their timely completion.
The Minister said this during a day-long tour of Jammu City here today.
Taking stock of the construction of Rs 80 crore 4th bridge over River Tawi, Dar was informed that the completion of this project will facilitate the people of various districts of the State like Rajouri, Poonch and Akhnoor area. He was informed that the bridge will be completed before the targeted period of November, 2012.
While inspecting construction of Government Indira Gandhi Dental Hospital complex costing Rs 32.12 crore, the Minister directed the concerned to accelerate the pace of work and complete the same within a time frame. He was informed that work has been started soon after clearing the land and other formalities and presently the construction work is in full swing.
Earlier, the Minister visited Kunjwani area and directed the concerned to launch work immediately on 3.5 kms long road, Kunjwani to Satwari Chowk while assuring release of Rs 19.50 crore estimated cost of the project. He also inspected the pace of work of Bantalab–Barnai Road.
During his tour, the Minister was informed by the concerned Chief Engineer that survey for decongestion of the roads from Bikram Chowk to Convent School and Shukantalla to Ambphalla has been conducted, for which final report will be submitted soon.
The Minister directed them to have close coordination with various agencies like Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) and Public Works Department (PWD) for completion of road projects. He said this project has been identified by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for funding.
A team of officers and engineers including Chief engineer R&B, Depti Lal Sharma and Managing Director, JKPCC Tahseen Mustafa accompanied the minister during his tour.
