Seminar on engineering effort in high altitude | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT UDHAMPUR, Nov 11: The Army is organising a two-day long seminar on pre-engineered buildings in high altitude areas from tomorrow in Srinagar to address the issue of traditional construction which is out dated with age old method besides incurring heavy cost and time penalties due to the rough terrain and weather condition. Army is now contemplating to incorporate pre-engineered building technology, which not only is cost effective, but importantly can be moved easily in high altitude areas. The seminar will be inaugurated by Lt Gen NC Marwah, GOC, Chinar Corps. A lrge number of experts in the field both from the Army and the civil fraternity are scheduled to participate in the seminar. The deliberation over two days will cover a wide range of subjects from construction to water disposal considered so very essential for ecological protection in high altitude areas.
