JMC’s anti-encroachment drive continues

Continuing its anti-encroachment drive in various parts of the city, the Enforcement Staff led by Satish Khajuria Chief Enforcement Officer under instructions of S.C. Sawhney Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, appealed to all the shopkeepers / business establishments to keep the goods / articles within their own premises and to keep the footpaths / pavements clear for the convenience of the General Public failing which strict action like seizure of goods etc shall be taken.
During the drive, 4 trucks load of material like geysers, LCD, Refrigerators, Almiraha, Sign Boards, PVC Pipes, Sofa Covers, Foot Wears, Iron Ladders, Iron Cage, Trunks, Chairs, Mattress, Reharies, Juicer Machine, Tools, Trapals, Iron Frames, Weighing Scales, Sheets, Umbrellas etc. were seized which were placed by encroaching upon footpaths, pavements, part of road sides by the shopkeepers / vendors. The team also removed the banners, sign boards, hoardings which were being displayed and installed on public places / electric polls in these areas.
Besides this, the Municipal Veterinary Officer along with field staff conducted drive against the adulteration of milk and visited the areas of Meshapura Chowk, Bakshi Nagar,Canal Road, Bhagwati Nagar, Talab Tillo, Paloura. During the drive, 76 milk cans were checked out of which 1 milkcan was found to be of sub-standard quality and a fine of Rs 2500.00 was also realized from the erring milk vendor on spot. Further continuing the drive to check the menace of stray animals, the team had also visited the areas of Amphalla, Rehari, New Plot, Janipur, Bakshi Nagar, Roop Nagar, Canal Road, Talab Tillo, Bahu Fort, Narwal, Channi Himat, Trikuta Nagar, Nai Basti, Gandhi Nagar etc and lifted 16 stray animals from these areas. The stray animals were impounded in the Municipal Cattle Pound and an amount of Rs. 2350.00 was also realized as fine from the owners of stray animals.
