| Pinto Club enters final of district volleyball | | | Early Times Report
POONCH, November 11: Pinto Club today sailed into the final of the District Poonch Volleyball Championship, organised by District Volleyball Association at Sports Stadium, here.
In the first semi-final played today, Pinto Club defeated Kanetar Club in straight sets 25-18, 25-14. Now, in the second semi-final, Chandi Club shall take on Manjit Club tomorrow. It will be followed by the final at 3 pm at the same venue.
Earlier, in the first round of quarterfinals of this two-day meet, Chandi Club beat the opponent in straight sets 25-21, 25-16 while Kanetar Club trounced Volleyball Club Kalai 25-18, 25-12.
In another quarterfinal, played this morning, Manjit Club beat Degree College team in close straight sets 25023, 25-22.
Today’s matches were officiated by Bashir Ahmed, Neeraj Sharma, Rajinder Singh (all VFI referees) and Ram Parkash.
In all, eight teams are taking part in this district championship which was declared open by Zonal Physical Education Officer, Hardev Singh.
