BJP seeks explanation from CM on separatits’ remarks | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 12: The Congress-led UPA at the centre should come out with an explanation whether it has accepted the demands of the separatists to pave way for holding talks between them and New Delhi. This was stated by BJP state president Shamsher Singh Manhas while reacting to the revelation of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah that the Centre has accepted all the five points put forth by the Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani. Manhas said that such revelation by none other than the State Chief Minister is quiet meaningful and the Union government should come out with an explanation without wasting even a second as it is an important issue and directly linked with India’s sovereignty over this part of the country. He said it is indeed a very dangerous development and would have very serious repercussions in future. Manhas said that it is due to the appeasement policy of the Congress-led UPA which has encouraged the people like Geelani to raise anti-India slogans and put forth such demands which are against the interests of the state as well as nation. The separatists have no respect for the Constitution and openly indulge in seditious activities. According to the law of the land, such people should be put behind the bars but unfortunately they are treated as VVIPs and provided with categorized security at the cost of the Indian exchequer. The BJP Chief said those putting conditions for coming on table are the people who do not want peace and normalcy to return in the state as for them militancy is an industry. He reminded the separatists that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and no force on earth can separate it from India. He said the UPA should take the nationalist people into confidence before taking any step or decision related to J&K and that it should adopt total transparency in all matters. Ends---
