| Integrated plan on traffic management on anvil: DC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu , Nov 12: To get rid from day to day traffic problems in the city of temples, the state administration is likely to come up with integrated plan for traffic management and regulation soon, which will help reducing in traffic jams and congestions to an large extent. This was disclosed by District Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma in a press conference held here today evening. Addressing a press conference, District Commissioner said that the number of vehicles have increased manifold over the last 10 years and it has become more difficult for enforcing agencies to coup up with it. He said for traffic management, it needs short and long terms measures . More flyovers, widening of roads, separators, traffic signals are already on the govt’s agenda and very soon, traffic problems will be reduced to a larger extend. He further added that it becomes more difficult after durbar and the number of vehicles getting doubled. He sought co-operation from the people to help in this regard and advised that people should not park their vehicles on roadside which created jam. The vehicles should be parked at proper parking places and people should get more awareness regarding this problem. . He said drivers must park their vehicles on the identified parking slots as wrong parking creates traffic snarls affecting free movement of all. SSP traffic Zahid Manhas on the occasion threw light on installation of traffic signals and speed limits in the city. He further added ``we are facing lot of problems in traffic regulations, but will manage to take care of this problem. New 10,000 vehicles are on roads after 3 months which make it more difficult’’. Municipal Commissioner Jammu, SC Sahwney was also present on the occasion.
