| World Diabetes Day observed at MIER | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Nov 12: World Diabetes Day was observed in the campus of MIER College of Education in collaboration with Diabetes Care Foundation.
Jitendra Singh, professor Govt. Medical College and a well known Diabetologist and an author was the chief guest on the occasion.
Jitendra Singh addressed the students of college and sensitised them about the reasons behind diabetes and preventive measures.
He also elaborated upon the theme of this year i.e.’Diabetes in Children’. He informed the audience that the focus has now shifted to educating the youth and the women for containing the epidemic of diabetes.
Later, the queries of the students were answered elaborately.
Reeta Jitendra addressed the gathering and encouraged them to spread knowledge and awareness about diabetes. Ashok Chaturvedi , in his address said that through these activities the objectives of the foundation are being achieved extensively.
The participants of the symposium were adjudged by a panel of judges comprising Surinder Kour, controller examinations; B.L.Raina, HOD P.G.Dept.; D.R. Kapoor, HOD, Research Wing. The winners were announced by. Komal Sharma. The first, second and third prizes were clinched by Shivani Abrol,.Tanisha Nargotra and.Pankaj Pargotra respectively.
The function was presided over by Arun K Gupta, chairman MIER.
