DCM reviews JNNURM projects | Directs for observing quality parameters, time schedule | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, NOVEMBER 12 - Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today took a detailed review of the progress of various ongoing sewerage and drainage projects being executed under flagship programmes of Jawahar Lal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). Among others, the meeting was attended by Divisional commissioner, Jammu Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Sanjeev Verma, Commissioner JMC, S. C. Sahani, Director Local Bodies, Jammu F. C. Bhagat, CEO SUIDA, Chief Engineers PHE, UEED, Director ERA, and senior officers of NBCC and other concerned departments were also present. Laying emphasis on maintaining quality, Tara Chand called for taking random samples to check quality standards while executing development works. The line departments as well as executing agencies should go for the mandatory third party inspections to plug loopholes, he added. Stressing on observing time schedule for various works, Deputy Chief Minister asked concerned agencies to follow proper calendar while executing the works. He said JNNURM is a flagship programme requiring dovetailing different components to maximize benefits for the public. Calling upon executing agencies to work in tandem with one another, Tara Chand said that proper synergy among different line departments ensures efficient and proper implementation of the projects.
