OMAR faces traffic snarl on busy Gumat road | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 12: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who always enjoys smooth ride home on roads, had to taste moments of traffic blues in the winter capital.Choked with heavy traffic as the Jammu roads are these days, Omar remained stranded in a jam on busy Gumat road till his security personnel got down from their vehicles to clear the serpentine queue making way for the VVIP cavalcade. After attending first half of the day at civil secretariat when Chief Minister was heading home via bus stand area near Gummat road long queue of vehicles came in the way of his cavalcade and he was seen stuck in the jam for few minutes. The traffic police personnel despite making best possible efforts to clear the road for the chief minister's smooth passage failed to clear the road for VVIP movement at the last minute. Irregular parking of vehicles on the busy stretch of the road also added to the miseries of the commuters till the passage of the CM's cavalcade. Realising the security concerns of the CM ,the jawans traveling in his cavalcade got down from their vehicles to clear the way. Several onlookers saw CM looking anxiously at the passers by and sharing certain glances during the time he was stuck in the traffic snarl. Several passers by when spotted the Chief Minister stuck in the traffic jam only expressed hope that now when even CM is feeling the heat of the traffic related problems in walled city area his government might expedite measures urgently needed to ensure smooth traffic for the commuters
