MLA Ramban inaugurates transformer, distributes IAY cheques

JAMMU, Nov 13,During an extensive two-day tour of remote hilly and backward villages of his constituency albeit falling in Doda district, MLA Ramban, Ashok Kumar inaugurated a 25 KVA Transformer at village Manwas of Kuddhar Panchayat the other day.
He had sanctioned an amount of Rs 6.50 lakh from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF).The villagers of Manwas were overjoyed with the sight of lighting bulbs first time and could think of charging their cell phones and watching Television in their houses.
Earlier, the MLA distributed 22 cheques among as many beneficiaries of Below Poverty Line category under the Indira Awas Yojna for the construction or repair of their houses at Bhagwa in presence of BDO, Bhagwa and other local officers.
Ashok Kumar accompanied by the Incharge Congress Block President, Assar, Abdul Gani Malik, Congress Youth leader, Mohd.Akhter and Congress Block President inspected the Saras-Kastigarh, Chilli-Dhandal and Bemna –Desa roads being constructed under PMGSY.
During his various public meetings Ashok was apprised of long pending grievances by the villagers mostly regarding the non-availability of road communication, shortage of buses leading to overloading and thus repeated accidents, lack of drinking water facility and non-availability of electricity.
MLA assured the villagers that he would try his level best to assuage their grievances by bringing them to the notice of the concerned ministers and would allot funds from his CDF for the electrification of the remaining unelectrified hamlets of his constituency next year.
