11/13/2010 11:19:10 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov13: Sensible and patient innings from the tale-enders, skipper Abid Nabi and slow bower, Sameer Khajuria today helped Jammu and Kashmir held hosts Kerela to draw in the Ranji Trophy Plate Group-B League tie today.
Struggling at 59 for three with day’s play remaining, the troubled J&K side did incredible job by playing real test innings to surprise Kerela before home crowd, reports reaching here informed.
At the end of the day, J&K were playing at 215 for seven in 128 overs. Asif Jeelani faced 196 deliveries to make valuable 46 runs. Samiullah Beigh also played well contributing 34 runs to the total.
However, the sensible batting by skipper, Abid Nabi and Sameer Khajuria left Kerela out of bounds forcing a draw on the home ground. Both Abid and Sameer remained unbeaten at identical score of 30 runs each. While Abid faced 167 deliveries, Khajuria made 30 off 140 balls, which clearly indicate their patience and resistance.
Now, in the third league tie, J&K shall take on Services at Delhi from November 17.
