| Woman among two killed in road mishaps | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 13: Two persons, including a woman, were killed in separate road accidents here since last night.Police sources said two trucks collided head-on at Chanderkote near Ramban, about 200 km from here on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway, late last night as a result of which the driver of one of the vehicles sustained critical injuries.
Identified as Paramjit Singh, son of Gurmukh Singh of Simble Camp, he was admitted to Ramban hospital from where following deterioration in his condition, he was referred to the GMC hospital here this evening.
He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, the sources added.Sources said the driver of another truck fled from the spot. A hunt was on to nab him, the sources added.
In another incident, Shahida Bibi, wife of Barkat Hussain of Kote-Bhalwal, died instantly after a minibus (JK02E/4844) ran over her at Kote today.
Sources said the incident took place when Shahida fell down while alighting from the minibus.The minibus driver fled the spot after the incident. Police had registered a case against him. |
