| Crossed Swords Division organises ‘Run for Fun’ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Khour , Nov 14: ‘Run for Fun’ was organized under the aegis of the “Sentinel of Chenab Brigade of Crossed Swords Division” for the children of Khour block at Hamirpur on the occasion of Children’s Day.
This ‘Run for Fun’ was flagged off by Commanding Officer, Hamirpur Battalion and was attended by approximately 200 boys and girls of “schools of Khour block”. Run for Fun was conducted for 2.5 km for girls and 5 km for boys.
The children who had performed well were awarded prizes and selected for further training.
Among boys, the first, second and third positions were bagged by Munavar Kumar, Sukhdev Singh and Subhash Chandra respectively. While among girls, the first, second and third positions were bagged by Vandana and Soniya, Asha Devi and Vaishali Devi respectively.
The aim of ‘Run for Fun’ was to emphasize on the importance of physical fitness and to identify the talent among the students of rural areas who do not get an exposure to project their talent.
The ‘Run for Fun’ was yet another admirable attempt by the Crossed Swords Division to enhance rapport with the school going children and teacher of the region. |
