| Foundation stone of sports stadium laid | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Udhampur, Nov 14: Coinciding with the Children’s Day, Minister for Medical Education, Technical Education and Youth Services & Sports, R.S. Chib today laid the foundation stone of the Sports Stadium, Shajalta in Udhampur.
Legislatures, Balwant Singh , Krishan Chander , Director General Youth Services & Sports, Shamim Ahmed Laharwal, District Development Commissioner, Baseer Ahmed Khan, Senior Superintendent of Police, Surinder Gupta, Director Technical Education, , Assistant Director Youth Service & Sports, Ashok Kumar, District Sports Advisory Committee, heads of educational institutional and students were present.
The Minister said that the laying of foundation stone of the Sports Stadium on the birth anniversary of Pt. Nehru is a good omen for providing youth a big canvas for showcasing their sports talent.
“Youth have a crucial role in making the India as a super power at the strength of enviable strides made in various spheres”, the Minister said while enumerating the great role being played by young Indian across the globe.
Lauding the good will gesture of the Army authorities for providing Rs 1 crore for the development of Sports Stadium, Udhampur, under Operation Sadhbhavana, the Minister said that army would be requested to create maximum sports facilities by providing sports infrastructures in other areas of the state Under Operation Sadhbhavana in future also.
Director General Youth Services and Sports in his welcome address highlighted various facilities to be provided in the sports stadium after its completion. |
