Propaganda still on in Kashmir to malign image of army | Himalayan feature | | ET REPORT JAMMU, Nov 14: The reports regarding the attack on Sikh minorities at three places in Kashmir Valley during the visit of US President, Barak Obama on November has been blown out of proposition by some agencies to malign the image of Indian Army which otherwise is the most disciplined force in the world. Though the State Government has taken up the issue with the army authorities who had assured to probe the incidents and furnish the report within a week, high placed sources said that the act is the handiwork of some anti national elements to malign the image of Indian army. Sources said previously the finger was pointed on Indian army during the Chatisinghpora carnage when 33 innocent minority Sikhs were killed in the village by the terrorists. But to give a clean chit to terrorists and their harborers, the anti India elements and agencies working in the state blamed the Army for the act. This is not the first incident of killings in Kashmir when Army was blamed but earlier on other such incidents the separates and terrorists accused the army for killings to present a bad picture of India before the International community. This is not for the first time that forces inimical to India are launching such a propaganda in Kashmir but the trend has started right from 1989 when the militancy started in this border state. Sources said though terrorists and separatist elements in the Valley were responsible for the killing of the minority Pandits in Kashmir also and their forced exile yet a propaganda was launched that the community migrated from Kashmir on the instance of then Government Jagmohan which can't be believed. Unfortunately some mainstream political parties also seconded this and they too held the former Governor responsible for hounding out of entire population of minority Hindus from the Valley without giving thought to the fact that no individual will be ready to leave his native place unless he is compelled. The sources said the same story is being repeated at present to distort the facts and present a bad picture about the Indian democracy. Sources while terming the reports a bundle of lie said that in the malicious propaganda launched by the separatists and other anti India forces has been fully exposed after the recent statement of the Lashkar terrorist Richard Hadley who disclosed before the investigating agencies that the Lashkar-e-Toiba was behind the Chatisingpora carnage. Likewise the minority Sikhs in the Valley have also taken the serious exception to the reports that some army men had intruded into three villages i.e Uplana, Tral and Baramulla in Kashmir Valley to attack the minority Sikhs. Terming these reports totally baseless members of Sikh community in Kashmir said it is a ploy to provoke army against the community. The people behind these acts will be soon exposed like the Chatisingpora incident, they added. |
