NHPC organizes painting competition

JAMMU, Nov 15: Region-I of NHPC Ltd organized State Level Painting Competition on Energy and Water Conservation at Brigadier Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu.
The students holding Ist, 2nd and 3rd position in both the competitions were awarded Rs 10,000, 8,000 & 5,000 respectively and 10 students each were awarded consolation prizes of Rs 1,000 each in an impressive prize distribution function, presided by Naseema Lankar, Commissioner Secretary, School Education, J&K Govt.
NHPC was entrusted with the responsibility of organizing School and State Level Painting Competition on Energy and Water Conservation by Ministry of Power and Ministry of Water Resources.
50 students from different schools who were selected after screening appeared in the State Level Painting Competition. Koshika Pandey, Shubam Sharma and Deepika Sehrawat stood Ist, IInd and IIIrd respectively in Energy Conservation while Koshika Pandey, Nashra Rasool Dev and Rishabh KS stood Ist, IInd and IIIrd respectively in Water Conservation.
Amongst others, S C Dhiman, Chairman, Central Ground Water Board, Sanjay Sarbhoy, Chief (HR) and Nodal Officer for J&K State and other dignitaries from civil administrative were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Lankar said that this is a matter of pride that our small school children along with their parents are part of the Energy and Water Conservation Campaign launched by Ministry of Power and Ministry of Water Resources, Govt. of India which shall help a long way in power and Water conservation in the country.
Sanjay Sarbhoy, Chief (HR) briefed the Chief Guest Lankar & others about the State Level Painting Competition and also about the campaign launched by Ministry of Power. He further said that NHPC Ltd. is proud to organize School/State Level Painting Competition in the State of J&K consecutively for the 5th year and also advised the students to convey the message of Energy and Water Conservation to all they are connected with.
