MIET celebrates Children’s day at SOS village | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 15: NSS Unit of Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) celebrated Children’s Day with the children of SOS Village at Gole Gujral. Faculty as well as the students of the college contributed sports items, stationery items, fruits and other items for the Public Address system for the students. MIET made a small attempt to bring happiness on the faces of little angels who have lost their parents. The students of MIET along with their faculty organized various activities, interacted with the youngsters, with a feeling of care and affection. After interacting, students performed some cultural activities like singing and playing musical instruments. Students also took part in various sports like cricket, football etc. with the children and made the environment full of joy, thrill and happiness. Major Gen (Retd), SK Sharma, Principal of the College was also present there. He motivated students and guided them to visit such places regularly, not only to donate but also to spend time with them. He emphasized on social development of the students besides gaining professional knowledge through their studies. Kuldeep Kumar Sharma, Director, SOS Village appreciated the good and noble gesture of the College. He also gave details of the working of the village which has 127 children as on date. PARAYAAS, the NSS wing of MIET keeps on organizing various such social activities under the guidance of B B Mehmi, Convener of NSS Committee.
