Benia, Vinod share Nagrota Kesari title

JAMMU, November 15: Wrestler Benia of J&K Police and Vinod of Punjab shared the 16th Annual Nagrota Kesari Vishal Dangal, organized by Nagrota Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association near Sainik School Nagrota, near here.
The fight for the main bout remained inconclusive between the two top wresters even after 27 minutes dilly dallying battle. Both the wrestlers were given away cash prize of Rs 15,000 as cash prize.
President of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma was chief guest, who get start the fight for the main bout and later gave away the cash prize. Deputy Superintendent of J&K Police, Dushyant Sharma and Prithvi Raj Sharma (Retd.SP) were guests of honour. Sub –Inspector Parvej Ahmed and Ram Parkash Sharma were among other prominent present.
The second main bout was won by Sunny of Jullandhar in Punjab beating Neater of Ludhiana. While Sunny got Rs 7,000 as cash prize, Netar was given away Rs 4,000.
In the third main bout, Bhurra of Pathankot defeated wrestler Shindha of Ludhiana.
The fourth main bout was clinched by Sagar of Delhi, who beat Jakker of Jammu. The winners and runners up of third and fourth bouts were given away same cash prize.

Speaking on the occasion, chief guest said that there was no dearth of talent in the state but need is an opportunity and encouragement from the government. He congratulated the winners and runners-up for the fighting spirit.
Other Results: Harnam of Maharashtra bt Asaf, Tirathu bt Dalip Singh, Naresh bt Nishan Ali, Vivek of Delhi bt Gulshan Kumar of J&K Police, Rajesh of Pathankot bt Kalu of Jammu, Naresh bt Sanjay, Kala of Jullandhar bt Murad Ali of Nagrota, Billu of Jindrah bt Khajan Singh, Rajesh of J&K Police bt Shinku of Gurdaspur, Sonu bt Shokat Ali. Bouts between Swarn Singh and Fiza of Billawar; Gopal Sharma of Jindrah and Sandeep of Delhi; Kulbir Singh of Kot Bhalwal and Kuldep Singh of Sat Paul Akhara Delhi; Satish of Jullandhar and Sandeep of Sanjay Akhara Delhi; Kaka of Pathankot and Happy of Dera Baba Nanak ended in a draw.
