| Young Hero blanks Churchill Brothers 4-0 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, November 15: Young Hero blanked equally good side of Churchill Brothers 4-0 to consolidate their position in the ongoing Senior Division League Football Tournament, organised by Jammu wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) at GGM Science College ground, here today.
Leading by two goals in the first half of the game, Young Hero added two more goals after the breather to make it a one-sided contest.
Rocky opened the account for Young Hero striking in the 10th minute, followed by the second goal coming through Tushar Gurang in the 25th. Later, Rahul Ghai (50th and 55th) struck twice to help his side make it a big win.
In the second match of the day, Jammu Sports stunned Young Star beating latter by three goals to nil. Jammu Sports missed the first penalty kick awarded in their favour in the 19th minute. Danial’s kick was well saved by goalk-keeper Sandeep Phull.
But soon, Vivian made solo effort to score the first goal for his team in 25th minute. It was followed by another penalty kick awarded in favour of Jammu Sports and Danial this time did no mistake in converted it into goal in the 59th minute.
Vivian, who was playing superbly, netted his second goal in the 62nd minute to guide his side to a convincing 3-0 win.
Meanwhile, in Junior Division League underway at Mini Stadium Parade here, Moon Light Club suffered a humiliating 0-9 defeat in the hands of Sainik Colony Club. In another match of the day, Jammu Sports B got walkover Akhnoor Tigers.
