| Kissan mela inaugurated at Ramnagar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Udhampur Nov 15: MLA Ramnagar Harishdev Singh inaugurated a block level kissan mela cum-exhibition at Ramnagar today. The exhibition was organised by Agriculture Department under Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Udhampur.
Lauding the efforts of Agirculture Department for holding the exhibition at Ramnagar, a remote tehsil of the district, MLA said that such type of programmes are very useful for the farmers to boost agriculture production for their socio- economic transformation. He called for holding such more Kissan Mela-cum-awareness camps for the benefit of the farmers. He exhorted upon the youth to come forward to adopt the same as basic profession which has immense financial sustenance for them rather the traditional and decayed agriculture sowings and less produce.
During the camp, officers of allied departments presented a detailed account of different activities of their respective departments, including horticulture, fish farming, floriculture, goat rearing, poultry farming, bee keeping, cocoon and mushroom cultivation. As many as 150 farmers of the area participated .
