| Minor rape victim craving for justice | | Police in deep slumber | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 15: Crime rate of Tehsil R.S.Pura area has been increasing with each passing day. Many incidents of rape and murder have come to light within last few days.
Incidents has put question mark on the ability of local police. A minor school girl of Class 9th namely Saleema Bibi daughter of Gulab Din of Raipur Gujran in Tehsil R.S. Pura was kidnapped on September 21, 2010 by five boys. She was raped.
It is pertinent to mention here that the 13 year old school girl was waiting at Kotli Morh for auto rickshaw at about 6.45 am when 5 boys in a Zen car bearing registration number JK02AH- 0268 abducted her. Police said that culprits raped the girl continuously for three days and then took her to Ludhiana and kept her there for 33 days.
Family of the girl lodged FIR on September 23. Police got only one accused arrested after about one month and 3 days while four others are still absconding. According to the reports, accused were identified as Reham Ali and Imam Hussain alias Falia both sons of Ibrahim resident of Langotia (Miran Sahib), Tek Ali son of Taiya resident of Sarore Adda, Resham Din son of Qasam resident of Sarore adda and Gulzar alias Gajju son of Tittral resident of Saror Adda (Bari Brahmana).
Among these, only Gulzar alias Gajju was arrested by R.S.Pura police. SP Headquarters S.S.Johar said that they have not received any certified copy from the court and assured of taking strict action against the culprits as soon as the copy reaches him. Family of the victim claimed that certified copy has reached police authorities but for being hand-in-glove with the culprits, police has not taken any action against them.
