| Pro-VC, IGNOU is dead | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 15: Dr. D K Choudhry, Hon’ble Pro-Vice Chancellor, Indira Gandhi National Open University, passed away on November 13. A condolence meeting was held at Regional Centre, today and a two minutes silence was observed to pray for grant of peace to the departed soul. Dr D K Choudhry was one of the founders of IGNOU who rose from Assistant Director RSD to head the All India Network of Regional Services and had a longest spell of Director RSD, who was appointed as Pro Vice Chancellor of the University in 2007 and was recently given a second term in the same post. His contribution to IGNOU is enormous and can not be forgotten. Incidentally Dr. Choudhry had come to Jammu in 1999 to inaugurate the first Radio Counselling of IGNOU for All India Radio Jammu which proved to be a huge success.
