| Romesh inaugurates KVIB complex | | | RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 03: Minister of State for industries and Commerce, Dr. Romesh Chander Sharma inaugurated sales outlet and District officer Complex of J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board at Industrial Complex, Kheora, Rajouri.
While addressing the gathering, Dr. Romesh appreciated the role of the KVIB for progressing in every field and adding one after another achievement to its account. He exhorted upon the local unemployed artisans to start their own venture so as to become self reliant instead of hankering after government jobs. He further said that other departments should replicate the achievements of Khadi and Village Industries Board who has done good work to create employment in rural area. He stressed for organizing awareness camps at Block level.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary, KVIB informed that KVIB have 14 District Offices and 11 Sub Offices in the State and one Sub Office is shortly being opened at Reasi to cater the need of far-flung and remote areas of Blocks Mahore, Arnas, Reasi and Pouni for implementation of Rural Employment Generation Programme (REGP). He said that Divisional Office Kashmir is the first to have its own accommodation which was constructed in the year 2002-03 and thereafter two District Office Complexes one each at Pulwama and Rajouri have been built. District Office Complex Pulwama is at final stage and shall be completed by the end of next month. Three more office complexes in the year 2006-07 one each for Divisional Office Jammu, District Office Kathua and District Office Kargil are being proposed and acquisition of land for the District Office Udhampur and Barmulla is under process with the revenue authorities.
Mr. Sharma said that KVIB provides marketing linkage to the first generation entrepreneurs by organizing National, International, State and District Level exhibitions and also sales outlets to facilitate them in liquidating their old stock free of cost. For this two outlets one each at Katra and Exhibition ground Jammu have been opened and now Rajouri too have an outlet where the Khadi & Village Industries products shall be displayed and sold out. He informed that now Khadi lovers of Rajouri District would not have to wait for organized exhibitions and other opportunities for purchasing every Khadi & Village Industries product, which they can get under one roof in the District Office Complex of KVIB. |
