Govt to adjust newly selected migrant youth in their home localities in Valley | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 15: The migrant youth to be appointed under Prime Minister's employment package will be adjusted in their home localities in Kashmir Valley and in this regard the Government has sought the list of newly selected displaced youth from relief authorities along with their Valley address so that the posting orders are issued accordingly. According to high placed sources the 27,00 candidates whose appointment orders are in process will be adjusted in their home localities in the Valley. This will also provide an opportunity to the migrants to have an interaction with the local people of their area and such a move will be in the larger interests of return and rehabilitation of the displaced people in Kashmir, sources added. Sources said the Relief Organization has been sent directives by the authorities to frame the list of all the selected candidates along with their original place of residence in Valley so that the appointment orders are issued accordingly. Sources said that Government has totally ruled out adjustment of the migrants outside the Valley till the total normalcy is restored in Kashmir. A delegation of the displaced Pandit youth were categorically told by the Relief and Rehabilitation Minister, Raman Bhalla during their interaction with him that there will be no shift in the Government policy in this regard. ``All the newly appointed displaced youth have to join their services in Kashmir and there will be no compromise on the basic policy of the Government in this regard'', the Minister has told the delegation . He made it clear to the displaced youth delegation who had demanded adjustment of the newly appointed youth in safer areas till normalcy is restored in Kashmir, that the Government is committed to return and rehabilitation of the displaced people in Valley and employment package is one of the components of PM's rehabilitation and return package for migrants. In case the displaced youth are appointed outside the Valley, the basic purpose of PM's rehabilitation and return package will die, he added. Sources said that the displaced youth will be adjusted in their home districts nearer to their native villages and towns so that they can have an interaction with the members of the majority community and such a step will pave way for bridging the gap created between the two communities during the 22 year long turmoil. Sources said that Government knows that return and rehabilitation of displaced people is not so an easy task but with its firm commitment, resolve and support of the people the task will be accomplished. Sources said both majority community in the Valley and the displaced people have to show flexibility now and work for restoration of glory of Kashmir as well as its composite culture. The efforts of the Government can only yield fruit once the members of the two communities come closer to each other. This will be in the larger interests of the people of Valley in particular and state as well as country in general, sources added. Sources said the people in Kashmir also crave for the return of the minority Pandits who have been forced to flee from Valley after the militants engulfed the Kashmir in 1989-90. The common Kashmiri will welcome their return and also render all cooperation in their rehabilitation. But there are apprehensions that to keep the pot boiling in Valley separatists may try to create hurdles in the rehabilitation and return process of the displaced people and their designs can be thwarted with the determination and united efforts of both majority community members and minority Pandits, sources added. |
