| EU delegation visits KP migrant camps at Muthi | | | Jammu, November 03- A delegation of European Parliamentarian headed by Dr. Charles President of the delegation visited Kashmiri Pandit migrant camp at Muthi Phase-2 here this morning.
The other delegates including Mr Joe Lenen, Mr Marcilo Vernova and Mrs Innesa Derdia.
Interacting with the inhabitants the delegates said that the world is well aware of the sufferings of this displaced community. They said that the US community is also ready to provide all possible assistance to them for their rehabilitation and bringing stability in the state.
President of the delegation Dr Charles expressed concern that terrorism is global problem and tireless efforts are being made to combat it for creating a peaceful atmosphere. He interacted with the representatives of Kashmiri Pandit migrants and assured to discuss their demands with the state and central government authorities for an early sympathetic consideration.
On the occasion, Kashmiri Pandit migrants apprised the delegates of their problems. They asked them to highlight these and thus contribute to their resettlement by supporting their demands. The basic issues raised include job and educational avenues, rehabilitation and compensation of damaged, destroyed properties.
Among others, Mr J.P Singh representative from External Affairs Ministry, Ex MLC Mr B.L Bhat, Mr Santosh Camp Commandant Muthi and prominent citizens were also present on the occasion. |
