Kanti Lal of Rajasthan emerge sole leader

JAMMU, November 16: Senior most participant, Kanti Lal of Rajasthan today emerged as sole leader at the end of round seven securing highest six points in the ongoing BR Luthra Memorial Chess Tournament at Luthra College here.
Kanti, who is 54 years old, has won five matches and held his opponents to draw in other two games.
However, four other competitors were trailing behind with 5.5 points. They were Vikas Sharma of Punjab, Prince Bajaj of Delhi, Himal Gosain of Chandigarh and Yogesh Gautam of Haryana.
Meanwhile, according to the organizers, All J&K Chess Association, the last eighth round, followed by the valedictory function shall take place tomorrow at 3 pm at the same venue.
