EARLY TIMES
Srinagar, Nov 16: The weekly run of the Karvan-e-Aman bus service between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK), on November 18 has been postponed in view of the Eid-ul-Zuha being celebrated tomorrow.
Official sources said that in view of the Eid festival it has been decided to postpone the weekly service. It was decided by the authorities from both the sides of the border, they said.
The residents of both the sides of the Line of Control (LoC), who were scheduled to travel on Thursday, will now cross sides on November 25.
So far 507 POK guests had visited their relatives here while only 181 had travelled across the border since January this year.
The service was flagged off by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on April 7, 2005 in presence of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and than Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to enable the families, divided in 1947, to meet each other.
