Computer knowledge important to face future challenges: Malik | | | EARLY TIMES Udhampur Nov 16: To compete with the challenges in the field of quality education adequate computer knowledge is imperative for college students to gain much needed information about the latest technologies in every sphere of life. This was stated by the Minister for Higher Education, Labour & Employment, Abdul Gani Malik while addressing the college students at Dharmari and Reasi. Among others, Director Colleges, Dr. Sham Lal Gupta, Principal of Government Degree College, Reasi, Dr Ashok Kumar, Sub Divisional Magistrate Mahore, Sher Singh, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Reasi and officers of various departments were also present on the occasion. Speaking in the college Minister said that only roads and buildings could not serve any purpose; there is dire need to provide basic infrastructure facilities to the students in the field of computer education which is the main module these days. He directed the Principal Degree College Dharmari to make adequate computers for the college students so that the students may have computer facility. At Degree College Reasi, Malik said that additional grants to the tune of Rs 105 lakh have already been provided to this college for creating infrastructural facilities like canteen, 4 class rooms, common rooms and buses. Earlier the Minister visited Government High School Bagga near Mahore and inspected examination centre. He also issued necessary instructions to the staff for providing quality education. After inspection of SDM office Mahore, Malik met with various deputations at Mahore and redressed their grievances on spot.
