| SMVDU Prof Awarded Industrial Medal Award | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 16:Prof V Verma, Dean College of Sciences & Director, School of Biotechnology, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra has been awarded with Industrial Medal Award of the year 2009 in recognition of his pioneering work in field of Microbial Biotechnology.
The award was given for a technology transferred to an industry which has proved viable and resulted in successful commercial exploitation in India.
Prof Verma competed for this award against about 40 nominations. The award consisted of a Medal, Citation and Trophy and given away jointly by the Science Attaché of the Italian Embassy in India and Vice Chancellor, Madurai Kamraj University, Madurai at the glittering inauguration function of the Indo-Italian International Conference on Genomics Sciences-ICGS 2010 and VII convention of the Biotech Research Society, India (BRSI) at Madurai Kamraj University, Madurai on November 12. Prof Verma also presented his work on the development of award winning technology. The conference was attended by more two than thousand International and National delegated from various parts of India.
