| Jammu girl to rock at Asian games at Guangzhou | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU NOV:16 Tanya Gupta daughter of Satya Dev Gupta and Anita Gupta is among the few performers who would be representing India in the closing ceremony of Asian Games at Guangzhou, China with the singing sensation Ravi Tripathi.
She is a post graduate in Arts from Jammu University and took up classical singing since her childhood days. She had a lot of support from her parents for such activities. She has also worked with theatre group ‘Natrang’ and also at National School of Drama, New Delhi.
Her early grooming took place under the guidance of B S Bali and after her graduation she joined the ‘Gurukul’ of Suresh Wadekar.
She has won lot many awards and represented the State of J&K at National level too.
It was in the Film Academy in Dubai where her singing talent was spotted by Ghulam Ali, who later took her as his disciple.
In the international arena she has performed with stars like Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Roop Kumar Rathod, Suresh Wadekar and Celina Jaitely.
In her spare time she likes to paint on the canvas.
She likes cooking and her favourite cuisine is Thai food. White and red are her favourite colours. She is deeply impressed by the singing sensation of India Lata Mangeshkar and likes to sing her songs.
In future she is looking forward to become a playback singer like Lata Ji. She likes her city Jammu a lot because of its rich cultural heritage and values.
Her message to Jammuites is that nothing is impossible in life and to achieve something one needs to be disciplined and focused towards a goal.
