Gandhi parikrama for peace to begin today

JAMMU, Nov 16: Gandhi Global Family (GGF) is all set to begin Gandhi parikrama for peace under the ageis of Gandhi Global Family and Akhil Bharat Rachnatmak Samaj (ABRS) from Kanyakumari for promoting peace, harmony and to create awareness for eradication of social evils.
Addressing a press conference here today, State President of Gandhi Global Family S.P. Verma said that under phase 1, parikarma shall pass through 17 states and union territories. Enroute, local people would shower their blessings and become part of parikrama in their local jurisdiction.
A strong contingent of two eminent gandhians under the leadership of national convenor P.Maruti and national secretary of Gandhi Global-Family would spread message of Mahatma Gandhi among the masses of all shades. On November 24, parikrama shall reach Delhi and on November 25, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and President Gandhi Global Family Ghulam Nabi Azad shall lead thousands of Gandhian workers from all over the country for paying floral tributes to father of nation.
He said that parikrama shall enter J&K at Lakhanpur on December, 7, 2010 and follow the route of Dhar road Udhampur, Batote, Doda, Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Ramban, part of Kulgam, Anantnag, Pulwama, Srinagar, Hazratbal, Budgam, Baramulla, Aman sattu, Mata Vaishno Devi, Reasi, Kalakot, Rajouri, Poonch and shall reach Jammu on December, 19, 2010. There will be one day additional stay of parikrama at Srinagar and Jammu for interacting the people and Media.
Parikrama shall proceed onwards from Jammu on December, 21 and shall reach Kanyakumari on of January, 30, 2011, after the duration of 108 days.
