| Forest deptt holds spate of competitions | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 16: On the eve of Children's day, Department of Environment and Remote Sensing with the assistance of forest protection force organized a Symposium, Essay Writing and Painting Competition on the theme "Role of Individual in Preventing Pollution" on November 15, 2010 at village Rajpura in District Samba.
Local peasants, farmers and prominent personalities along with 500 students of thirteen schools of Rajpura Border area participated in the rural meet. The result declared by the panel of judges is as under:
Symposium
Surbi Sharma, Darshan Kumar, Sulaksbana Sharma, stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, where as consolation prize was won by Neeru Sharma.
Essay Writing Competition level 1 (Secondary Classes)
Sonia Sharma, Pooja Sharma and Shivam Raina stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively and the consolation prize was won by Gagandeep.
Essav Writing Competition level II (Middle standard)
Sakshi Sharma, Geetaangli Sharma, Palvi Sharma stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, where as consolation prize was won by Neeru Sharma.
Painting Competition level I (Secondary Classes)
Nishu Lotra, Gurnam Chaudhry, Vassha Singh, stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively where as consolation prize was given to Meena Kumari.
Painting Competition level II (Middle Standard)
Renu Sharma, Arti Kumari, Raveena Kumar stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively., The consolation prize won by Sunil Kumar. Chief Guest of the occasion was M.J.Sharma while Guest of honor was V.K.Raina. R. C. Gupta and Vijay Khajuria were also present.
Chief Guest M.J.Sharma IFS, also inaugurated an Eco Club at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Rajpura and emphasized for participation of children in such clubs for environmental betterment. Vote of thanks was delivered by Irshad Massom Range Officer, Department of Environment and Remote Sensing, Jammu. |
