Mobile squad conducts vehicles’ checking | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATHUA, Nov 16: In order to ensure strict implementation of various provisions of Motor Vehicle Act, a mobile checking squad headed by RTO Kathua, HQ Lakhanpur conducted checking of different modes of transportation. Regional Transport Officer, Shiv Kumar Gupta, along with a team comprising ARTO, inspectors and other staff conducted the inspection to check route permits of All India Tourist Buses and payment of various taxes, insurance, fitness etc of the vehicles. The random checking of trucks carrying various goods was also done and those trucks which has evaded the Lower Munda Toll Post or those which were having excess load than the permissible limit were also checked and fined. The naka was laid at various points from Raj Bagh, Palli Morh to Lakhanpur. During the 20 hours of continuous road checking, at mid night various truck drivers/bus drivers tried to gave a slip to Naka party, when asked to stop the vehicle for checking, but most of them were successfully chased by the naka party and on spot fine was imposed after compounding their offence for violation of provision of Motor Vehicle Act. Around 300 numbers of vehicles were checked, out of which 91 vehicles were found violating Motor Vehicle Act, their offence were according compounded. On spot fine of Rs.2,31, 800 was realized from the 91 number of vehicles which included of 67 numbers of buses and 21 numbers of truck and 3 mini buses. Police Station, Raj Bagh also cooperated and provided their assistance of the naka party on the request of RTO.
