IMPA training programme concludes

JAMMU: A 5-day training programme on human rights issues in J&K state organized by Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development (IMPA) concluded here today. Officers from police, irrigation and flood control, animal husbandry and information and public relations participated in the training programme that was started on October 30. Experts delivered lectures on variant topics like introductory to human rights, UN and the international bill of human rights; human rights and evolving mandate under international covenants; international perspective and covenants on human rights issues; constitutional provisions and human rights; analyzing terrorism in J&K and human rights violation thereof; and role of institutional framework. The lectures were followed by detailed interactions. Deputy Director IMPA K. R. Tak gave away certificates to the participants of the training programme. Course Director Dr. Sunita Zalpuri was also present on the occasion.
