18 hectares land demined at Samba | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 16:Nearly 18 hectares of agricultural land in the border Sarthi Kalan village of Samba was today demined by army and handed over to farmers. The land was occupied and mined by army in 1999 after the armies of India and Pakistan had moved close to the border due to the escalation of tension between the two countries. Nearly 18 hectares of the demined land was today handed over by army to farmers, official sources said. The landed was handed over to farmers by Samba brigade commander, Brigadier Hemant Janeja in the presence of assistant commissioner,Samba, Bansi Lal Sharma.
