Sangharsh criticizes state government for shielding former VC JU | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 17: Sangarsh- A movement for Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood has criticized the state government that on one side the government observed the 150th year of the foundation of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India(CAG), which is the highest auditing authority of the country and on other side, the government has shown its negligible concern over its report of the year 2008-09 in which CAG in its chapter on Jammu University has severely criticized the functioning of Jammu University with respect to certain financial matters and academic disorder during the era of former vice Chancellor of Jammu University. General secretary-cum-spokesperson of the Movement Suresh Kumar claimed that it is a matter of great irony that after publishing of such report in CAG, the government has set no enquiry Committee regarding the reasons of this disorder and the redressal. Suresh said that in the recent days when CAG disclosed the rupee one lac and seventy two thousand crore scam in the 2G spectrum case in which Minister for Communication A. Raja was responsible, with the result, the minister has also resigned on the discloser of such high profile case ever in the history of India, but the CAG report of 2008-09 on which the movement during that period has hold series of protest demonstrations, is very unfortunate that this genuine hue and cry of the movement failed to deliver its message to the deaf and dumb government of Jammu and Kashmir . Suresh added that Governor of J&K state N.N. Vohra in his speech during a programme held at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, Jammu University has praised in length the sanctity and the functioning of CAG in the country and has appealed to the Governor of J&K state to comprise an enquiry committee headed by a retired judge of the High court regarding the debacles and destabilization during that period for which the report was published and also bring justice among the esteem believers of CAG in India.
