PDP leader extends Eid wishes to people
11/17/2010 9:22:20 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Rajouri, Nov. 17: Senior PDP leader extending warm Eid wishes to the people has prayed for peace and prosperity in the state.
Expressing his solidarity with the families, relatives and friends of the victims of violence in the valley, he said that Eid marks the ocassion of happiness and celebration but in the valley gloom, sufferings and bloodshed can be seen and felt. Khan said it is unfortunate that the government is still continuing with its suppressive policies and tactics thereby increasing the anguish among the people.
The old method of picking up the innocent especially the youth has been started again thereby creating panic and terror as well as disillusionment. Even older people are not spared.
The irreparable loss of the dead as well as the injured and disabled for life cannot be compensated in any way. The only remedy is to stop the killings immediately and bring in peace and a feeling of belongingness among the people besides giving them justice.
The sad part is that a number of innocent youth have been put behind bars without even registering any case against them and have not been released so that they can celebrate the occasion with their families.
Hailing the Mufti regime, Khan said that the period was marked by peace and prosperity in the whole state while the present coalition is inflicting atrocities and sufferings to the people. Others present in the meeting were Ch Ghani, Tazeem Dar, Tahir Lone, Iqbal Shah, Nadeem Sheikh, Ch Tanveer, Javed Khan, Jahangir Khan, Mohammed Sayeed, Lal Hussain, Haji Tariq and others
