Development of peripheral areas is on priority of Govt: Bhalla | | | EARLY TIMES Jammu, Nov 17: Minister for Revenue, Raman Bhalla on Wednesday said that the coalition Government was committed to develop all the peripheral areas of the State by providing all civic amenities, including electricity, health, education, better sewerage, safe drinking water, roads and lanes. The Minister said this while inspecting the ongoing construction work of lanes and drains at Hari Vihar and Shanti Colony in Kunjwani, here today. Bhalla asked the officers to personally monitor the quality of ongoing development works adding that there should be no compromise on quality. He said that Government is committed to create durable assets in the State adding that there is no constraint of funds. He asked the officers to remain present in their jurisdictions and solved people’s problems without any delay. Bhalla urged the people for maintaining peace and harmony adding that state has faced lot of troubles during 20 years long turmoil. He cautioned the people to remain vigilant from those elements, who misled the people for their vested interests and are trying to create nuisance by spreading rumours among the masses. He said that need of the hour is to strengthen the peace and accord to defeat anti-national and anti-social elements. The Minister said the work on 6-lane road with Centre divider from Satwari to Kunjwani at a cost of Rs 50 crore would also be started very soon adding that numbers of multipurpose halls are being constructed at various places for facilitating the people of his constituency, he added. He said that coalition Government is keen to address public concerns on priority and the administrative machinery needs to geared up for timely redressal of the grievances of the people. He said that providing succor and basic amenities to the people is the top-most priority of the present government. He further said that the government is also embarking on a plan to develop the historical places in Jammu and its peripheral towns, adding that the development of famous Mubarak Mandi Complex as a Dogra heritage site is one of the major projects.
