| CII’s J&K Council holds meeting | | | EARLY TIMES
Jammu, Nov 17: J&K Council of Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) held its 5th meeting in Jammu.
Vicky Mahajan, Chairman CII J&K State Council welcomed all the CII J&K State Council members and apprised them about ongoing activities of CII in the State.
He informed the Council members about the movement of annual secretariat from Srinagar to Jammu in the first week of November.
Mahajan briefed members on the forthcoming 8th University-Industry Council Symposium, which is being jointly organized by CII and Jammu University.
The two-day event would deliberate on issues like University-Industry Partnership Models, Eco-Tourism, exploring the traditional knowledge base to establish a modern pharmaceutical Industry, role of IT/ICT in enhancing higher education and accelerating growth of the sector and sustainable energy and clean technologies. The meeting identified key areas of work that needs to be taken forward.
Mahajan said issues like impact of GST on Industry, municipal solid waste management, energy conservation techniques for industry, programme on bio medical waste management in Jammu and Agro conclave would be taken up in Jammu.
It was also decided by all the members present that there is great potential of promoting tourism in the state.
