| Inquilabi spent few hours in Jammu before taking bus for Delhi | | Rajouri police team returns after questioning him | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 17: Before boarding a bus for New Delhi, Abdullah Inquilabi -- HM commander for Jammu region -- had spent few hours in the general bus stand area here.
He was apprehended by Delhi police special cell, an elite anti-terror wing, Sunday night from a Deer Park in the union capital. On Monday, a Rajouri police team was despatched there.
The team, which was headed by DSP (operations), Rajouri, Farooq Kesar, came back this morning, police sources said.
Sources said the DSP questioned Inquilabi for nearly an hour and a half along with the officers of special cell and other counter-insurgency (CI) agencies.
Sources said the HM commander had hired a tempo traveller to reach Jammu from Srinagar.
The tempo traveller dropped him in the general bus stand area where he spent some time before taking a bus, most probably a video coach, to reach the union capital, the sources added.
As he had a vast network of contacts in Delhi, he got a job in a security agency soon after he reached there. He was regularly going to the agency office. He, however, fell in the special cell trap three days after he started his carrier as a security guard.
Sources said he planned to make a big strike in the union capital in the guise of a guard.
His custody would be sought by the Rajouri police through court, the sources added.
His wife Shahniaz alias Shahda and father-in-law Bashir Bakkarwal were yesterday picked up by police for questioning from a dhok at Kandi in Rajouri.
His associate and HM militant Ziaul Haq was also apprehended from his hideout at Kandi yesterday. Haq had joined HM in August last.
Sources said the sustained questioning of the father-daughter duo continued for the second consecutive day today. DGP Kuldeep Khoda has described Inquilabi's arrest as a big success of police and a major setback to HM.
Sources said his Shahda and Bashir had also provided police some important details about his activities in and outside the state.Evading arrest for the past a decade, Inquilabi directly reported to the outfit's chief Sayeed Salahudin in Pakistan occupied Kashmir
(PoK).
A resident of Muzaffarabad in PoK, he was involved in all the major terrorist operations carried out by HM in Rajouri, Poonch, Kulgam and Pulwama since 2000, the sources added.Sources suspected that Inquilabi was given the task by his Pak-based
mentors to carry out terror activities in Delhi after his successful stint in J&K.
He is also known as "Mr Surrender" in J&K as he used to contact police officers with a proposal to surrender while carrying out terror activities.He was involved in the killing of over 25 innocent civilians and police personnel.
He had crossed over from PoK to Rajouri in 2000. He was stated to have told his interrogators that he was influenced by a moulvi during his school days to join militancy. Later, he came in contact with Masood Sarfaraz of HMPPR. Till 2003, he was a member of HMPPR but after it was wiped out, he joined the HM and became the district
commander of the outfit in 2005. After carrying out several successful terrorist operations and attacks on security forces, he was made HM's commander for Jammu region in 2007.
He was trained at the HM training camp in Kotli, PoK, in 2000. Sources claimed that due to mounting pressure from security agencies in J&K , he had gone to Delhi evade arrest.
