Indo-Pak troops exchange sweets | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 17: In a goodwill gesture on the occasion of Eid-ul-Zuha, Indian and Pakistani troops exchanged greetings and sweets at different points along the Indo-Pak border in Jammu and Kashmir. A Sector Commander level flag meeting was held between the BSF and Pakistani Rangers at a forward Border Out Post in Jammu district and Eid greetings and sweets were exchanged, official sources said. Sweets and Eid-ul-Zuha greetings were also exchanged between the two armies at another flag meeting held along the Line of Control (LoC) at Chakan-Da-Bagh crossing point in Poonch district, they said. The Pakistani delegation was led by Col Omar Gul of 35 Baloch Regiment, while the Indian side was led by Col V P Singh of Bihar Regiment, they said. Meanwhile, Sector Commander Pak Rangers and DIG Border Security Force (BSF) held a meeting at Border Out Post Octroi in R S Pura Sector on the occasion of Eid-ul-Juha today. C Vasudevan and S K Singh DIG I/Nager along with 20 other officers attended the meeting. Pakistan delegation was led by Brig Masood Sector Comdr Pakistan Rangers along with 15 other officers. During the meeting C Vasudevan handed over sweets and exchanged Greetings on the occasion of the Eidul- Juha. Meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere and both parties agreed to maintain peace and tranquility on International Border. |
