MIET adjudged best college in north zone At ISTE convention

Jammu, Nov 18: Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) was adjudged as best technical institution in the annual technical festival MINERVA-2K10, organised by Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE) at Rayat Institute of Engineering and Information Technology, Ropar on November 13 and 14. Over 72 engineering colleges from Northern India participated in the festival.
As per the press statement, this is a major achievement for the students of the institute at the National level and reiterates the focus that MIET places on the overall development of its students.
Nakul Sharma, 7th semester student of Electronics and Communication branch was declared as the best student in north zone. This award constituted by the ISTE serves to recognize outstanding students who have made a mark both academically as well as in extra-curricular activities.
A total of 56 students from various departments and semesters of MIET took part in the literary, technical and cultural events. They were accompanied by Rahil Manhotra, Lecturer IT Department.
A total of 22 awards were won in different events organized at the festival. Nazuk Bhasin won 1st prize in the Literary Maze while Kanav Padha won 3rd prize in the same event. Sudivya Dubey and Nakul Sharma were declared 1st in Attire Matters.
Gourav Arora was declared 3rd in Prince of Perception while Tania won 2nd prize in Transformer’s Quiz. Ruhi Sharma and Neha Sharma were declared 2nd in Tattoo Making. The team from MIET also won honorable mention in code clash – a C programming competition and consolation prize in website designing.
Chairman MIER, Dr. Arun Gupta, Director, MIER Dr. Renu Gupta, Principal, MIET Prof. S.K. Sharma and Joint Director MIET, Dr. Ankur Gupta congratulated the students and wished them luck for future events.
