Sanjay makes hat trick in National’s 5-1 win | Senior, Junior Division Football League of Jammu | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, November 18: Making first hat trick of the tournament, Sanjay Singh scored four goals to guide National Club to a big 5-1 win over Pallanwala Club in Junior Division of the ongoing Football League Tournament of Jammu at Mini Stadium, Parade, here today. In fact, Rohit opened the account for National Club netting the ball in the 20th minute. Five minutes later Pallanwala brought in equalizer through Sumit Singh to make it 1-1. However, in form Sanjay Singh dodged the Pallanwala goal-keeper in the 30th minute to help his side take 2-1 lead at the end of first half play. Later, in the second half, Sanjay made three more goals striking in 38th, 47th and 58th minute. His brilliant play not only helped him complete his hat trick but also guided National Club to an emphatic 5-1 win. National Club goal-keeper made some brilliant saves amidst deliberate mistakes by the team members resulting into two yellow cards shown to Mohit and Rakesh. In another match of the day, Young Star blanked Manjit Memorial Club 4-0. Ayush (23rd), Mohit (25th), Ankush (30th) and Jaskaran Singh (45th) were the scorers. The third match of the day ended in a draw with Bhagat Singh Club holding Churchill Brothers goalless in the 70-minute game. Today’s matches were officiated by Sanjay, Sahil, Peter Sandhu and Mantu. Meanwhile, the senior match between Wazir United and Jammu United remained inconclusive due to some dispute. A decision shall be taken by the disciplinary committee which meets tomorrow.
