World heritage week from today | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 18: The Archaeological Survey of India Circle, Jammu is celebrating the World Heritage week from tomorrow at all centrally protected monuments located in the state. This year the main function and celebrations are scheduled to be held at Ancient Palace at Ramnagar, District Udhampur. It is aimed to involve the youth of the area through local school & Collage students in protection, preservation and propagation of our great heritage for which our country is justly world famous. An exhibition and other cultural awareness programmes on the eve of the World Heritage Week being organized at Ancient Palace at Ramnagar, District Udhampur highlighting recent Archaeological activities in the region, which includes conservation of monuments inscribed in the World Heritage list shall be on display. Shri R. Krishnaiah, Superintending Archaeologist, Archaeological Survey of India has made an appeal to the public especially young generation to attend the painting and drawing competition and Cultural programme for the celebration of World Heritage Week being organized on the occasion in the premises of monuments at Ancient Palace at Ramnagar District Udhampur.
