Govt neglecting Ramban in all spheres : Bali Bhagat | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 18: Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) state vice president Bali Bhagat has criticized the Congress-NC coalition government for neglecting Ramban district in all spheres of development, resulting in more hardships to the people of this backward and hilly area. He said that 98 percent schools, allopathic dispensaries and other hospitals are understaffed, while majority of villages of Ramban district are facing shortage of drinking water facility. He expresses his dismay that due to lack of funds to the PDD sector for rural-electrification has created more hardships to the people in the area. He appealed state BSNL authorities for setting up its office at district head quarter Ramban for collection of revenue because the locals are facing difficulties to deposit their monthly revenue at Batote. He alleged that Block Development office Ramban is issuing work orders on political consideration and the genuine people are being debarred in NREGA and other rural development schemes. BJP reiterated its demand for formal sanction of all the left out VDC’s and pointed that out of 370 VDC’s of Ramban district only 66 VDC’s have been accorded formal sanction and out of 1248 VDC’s of Doda and Kishtwar distrit only 817 are sanctioned. Citing an example of coalition Government’s discrimination with the people of Jammu province particularly with Ramban district Bhagat said that different yardsticks have been adopted on regional lines for paying compensation of land and residential houses which comes under the up-gradation scheme of NH-1A under prime minister’s yojna. He pointed out that Rs 2.65 lac per kanal land compensation is being paid to the people of Jammu region, particularly in Ramban area and Rs 8 lac per kanal land is being paid to the people right from opposite side of Jawahar tunnel in the valley.
