‘Cong harmed country more than elements hostile to it’ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 18: India hardly needed enemy from outside as there are enough from within observing this the leader of the BJP Legislature Party, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta said that there are good indications that Kashmir is being excluded from old list of disputes at UNO. But it was amazing that the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, who is the product of the Constitution, is disputing the finality of the Accession of Jammu and Kashmir with Indian Union. And quite important leaders of the Congress, who too, are under the oath of the Constitution, do not find anything objectionable in the speech of Chief Minister, perhaps because their party is in coalition with National Conference. What a politics for chairs, the BJP leader remarked. Addressing a meeting of the party activists, Prof Gupta said that Congress leadership has caused more harm to the unity of the country as also its interests rather than elements hostile to it. In this regard, he pointed out that how the bunglings were committed by Jawahar Lal Nehru at the behest of NC leader Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and took the case of Pakistani aggression to UNO and then accepted the suggestion for Cease fire with Pakistan when Indian troops were advancing fast in pushing out the invaders. Prof Gupta took strong exception to the most controversial utterances being made by the interlocutors who have been picked up for search of peace and solution to the problems in Kashmir. They are terming Kashmir a dispute and talking in harmful manner than even the enemies. The BJP leader asked the party activists to expose all those who are crossing the constitutional limits and are making a mess of the whole issue, which is not a political but a communal one and need to be treated under law of the land. He alleged that discrimination against Jammu is still being perpetrated despite the claims for equal treatment to all. In this regard, the BJP leader asserted that the biggest discrimination was that in the political field Jammu has been denied due representation both in the Lok Sabha and State Assembly. In the meeting the issues of development works, sanitation, awful conditions of the link roads and many others came under review.
